AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. Following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley and playing with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. The team made her professional debut and was a part of the team's success in winning the league title. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years aged, was the smallest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics, she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final game against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
